Vendor help

Trimble

Overview

Trimble product support depends on the exact product family. Start by confirming whether the issue belongs to SketchUp, TBC, or another Trimble-managed workflow before you assume a shared install pattern.

In scope

  • SketchUp
  • Trimble Business Center

Helpful starting points

Shared notes

  • Use the same Trimble identity path the client already standardized on.
  • Extensions, templates, coordinate libraries, and reports often decide whether the build is complete.
  • Document product edition, modules, and cloud-project dependencies before offboarding.

FAQ

  • Should the user create a new Trimble ID for each product? - No. Trimble recommends using the same Trimble ID across products when possible instead of creating separate identities.
  • Can users sign in with Microsoft, Google, or Apple? - Yes in many Trimble sign-in flows, but account recovery and multi-factor sign-in handling then follow that company sign-in page's rules.
  • What multi-factor sign-in method should we expect on Trimble ID now? - Trimble's current help says one-time passcodes sent to the primary email are the default second factor, with passkeys, authenticator apps, and secondary email methods also supported for non-federated users.

Common problems

Recurring vendor-wide problems

Usage issues

  • User cannot sign in to the product: Confirm they are using the correct Trimble ID or company sign-in path, then use account recovery if the password, multi-factor sign-in, or verification email is the real blocker.
  • multi-factor sign-in or verification messages are not arriving: Check spam or junk folders, verify the email address in use, and fall back to Trimble's account-recovery path instead of repeated sign-in attempts.
  • Browser-based sign-in behaves unpredictably: Move the user to a supported browser and avoid embedded-browser sign-in where possible, because Trimble's identity platform is stricter about browser support.

Setup / update tips

  • User cannot finish Trimble ID setup: Confirm the user can receive the verification email, is using a supported browser, and is not creating a second Trimble ID when one already exists.
  • Sign-in loop or blocked browser sign-in: Trimble advises using supported modern browsers and warns that embedded browsers can be blocked, so retry in Edge, Chrome, or Firefox instead of an embedded prompt.
  • Account becomes temporarily locked during rollout: Trimble states accounts can lock after repeated failed attempts. Wait for the lockout window to clear, then reset the password or recover multi-factor sign-in instead of brute-forcing retries.
